- Joan, age 76, returned to her Father in Heaven after a courageous battle with breast cancer April 24, 2009 in Vernal, Utah.
She was born in 1932 in Canada. The third of four daughters. She came to Utah in 1960 and married Dale Jay Laub June 7, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Joan was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed and appreciated the opportunities of serving in all the auxiliaries of her lifetime, as well as serving as a temple worker. She was a faithful visiting teacher.
Joan had a strong testimony of the Gospel, and the gift to search out her ancestors and many of their families. Shortly after joining the church, she served a number of stake missions during her lifetime. She and Dale served a full-time mission in the Atlanta, Georgia Mission. She was an influence for good in many lives.
Joan is survived by her loving husband Dale, one son Darren and his wife Karen of Walkoloa HI; daughter Rebecca Salt Lake City; daughter Jennifer and her husband Mark Davidson, Mountain View, WY. Also grandchildren, Riley Love, Nathan serving in the Nashville Tennessee Mission, Lauren, Melissa, Megan, Eric, and Brian. Also surviving are Navajo foster son Gary John and his wife Rosalyn and their children; Sequin, Heather, Christopher, Gregory, Sarah, and Vanessa of Chinie, AZ. Nary Mainelly her younger sister survives. Two sisters preceded her in death; Jessie Hall of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and Beryl Gough of Ontario, Canada.
Burial at Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery.
