- Maintenance man dies at age 62
Wilmer Cecil King, died at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Sunday, Sept. 28. He was in his 63rd year. Mr. King was the beloved husband of Eileen Kaufman and loving father of Wilmer, Sharon (Mrs. Gordon Chapelle), Deborah (Mrs. Glenn MacDougall) and Cathy (Mrs. Tom Booty), all of Cambridge. He will be missed by his four grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers Earl, Harvey, Joe, Carl, Grant and Larry and his sisters Oda, Frances, Lucille, Arlene and Shirley. He was predeceased by his parents, Cora and Percy, and his brothers, Ernie and Harold and sisters, Jean and Mary. Born in Gorrie, Mr. King lived and went to school in Mount Forest. He was affiliated to the Merchant Navy between 1941 and 1945 and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cambridge. Mr. King was employed as a maintenance engineer at Walker Exhaust. Friends were received at the Coutts and Son Funeral Home and the funeral service was held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, on Wednesday, Oct. 1 under the auspices of Rev. Barry Boeckner. Interment, Mount View Cemetery.
