    • Peter Fisher Of Kitchener Passes at 81

      A former school principal, Insurance registrar and library board chairman, Peter Fisher, 81, died at his residence, 111 Duke St. East, today. Born in Shantz Station, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Fisher, he was a public school teacher for 26 years before leaving to join the Mutual Life Assurance Company as registrar for 20 years. retiring in 1937.

      TAUGHT IN WILMOT
      He first taught school in Wilmot Township in 1891, later successively teaching in Waterloo and Kitchener. He was a principal at Courtland Ave. School from January, 1912, to December, 1917, when he left to enter business. Mr. Fisher was a member of Grand River Lodge, AF. and AM. and served as its secretary for 36 years. He was secretary-treasurer of the Waterloo Historical Society from 1913 to 1951 and served on the Kitchener Public Library Board from 1913 to 1921. He was board chairman during 1918-19. He attended First Church of Christ Scientist.

      FUNERAL SATURDAY
      Surviving are his wife, the former Ida C. Berner: two daughters, Miss Mabel E. Fisher and Mrs Clarence A. (Dorothy E.) Bell, both of Kitchener: two brothers, Jacob of Ayton and Herbert of Kitchener: one sister, Mrs. Fred Simmons of Kitchener. There are five granddaughters and one great-grandson. One son, Leonard P. Fisher predeceased him a year ago. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted Saturday at 3: 30 p.m. George DeKleinhans will officiate. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Breslau. A Masonic service will be conducted Friday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home,
