    • Joseph Shantz Baden - May 16 - Joseph Shantz, 60, of R.R. 2 New Hamburg , died at his home yesterday afternoon following a lengthy illness. Born in Wilmot Township, a son of the late Mr. And Mrs. Daniel Shantz, he was a well known district farmer. He was a member of the Geiger Mennonite Church. Besides his wife, the former Lydia Snyder, two sons, Vernon of Victoriaburg and Wayne of Baden, and to daughters, Louise and Alice at home, survive. Here brothers, Norman and Simeon of Haysville and Uzziah of Strasburg and two sisters, Mrs. Ephraim Schmidt and Mrs. John McKenzie of Baden and one grandchild also survive. A sister Annie, died 34 years ago. The remains will be held at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 7 o'clock tonight when removal will be made to the residence near Baden until 1: 30 p.m. Monday. The funeral with Rev. Moses Roth officiating will be held at the Geiger Mennonite Church at 2 p.m. Monday. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
