      Peacefully, at St. Luke's Place, on September 21, 2005, with his family, age 89. Predeceased by his wife Elinor (Tutton) in 2002. Loved father of Ruth Anne and Jim Sutherland of Halifax, Margaret Linton and David Hudson of Ottawa, Rob and Jeanne Linton of St. Marys, Don Linton and Sheila Hall of Calgary, loving grandfather of Andrea Linton (Geoff and Evan Jones), Beth Elliott (Chad), Ian Sutherland (Melissa Jones and Owen Sutherland), Karen Sutherland, Katharine, Paul, Mark and Christopher Hudson, and Gwendolyn, David and Jonathan Linton. A dear brother of Helen MacDonald of Cambridge. He was predeceased by his brother Stewart. Son of the late Gillies and Annie (Hamilton) Linton. Stan was born near Strasburg and grew up on what is now named Stan Elm Farm east of Cambridge. A dairy farmer, he was active in a variety of agricultural organizations. Stan lived his life with integrity in service of community, church and family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing and in his seventies took up downhill skiing. Stanton was active in the Cambridge Shriners. His recent years were made joyful by the loving care of the St. Luke's Place staff, with special thanks from the family to Angie Ball. Interment will occur at Mount View Cemetery, on Saturday, October 22, at 1 p.m.
