- Mrs. James C. Giles
Dora F. Schlee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schlee, was born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, on Nov. 24, 1866 and died at Oxford, Nebraska, May 5, 1951 at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 11 days.
She was a Christian from early youth and was reared in the Lutheran faith. When only a young girl of seventeen she came to Nebraska from Canada to visit relatives at North Bend, Nebraska where she met and married Frank Swindell. Two children, Claude and Maude were born, Maude dying in infancy. Mr. Swindell met his death in a train accident in 1888.
She was married Sept. 7, 1891 to James C. Giles and spent almost all her lifetime in and near Oxford, Nebraska. To this union six children were born: Charley, Dollie, Ireland, Harry, Alice Anna, who died in infancy, and George. Mr. and Mrs. Giles would have been married 60 years in September, 1951.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers, being the last of her family. She is survived by her husband, four sons, two daughters, 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. G. C. Robberson at Mitchell Funeral Home on May 8th. Soloist was Mrs. Dean Blincow, accompanied by Mrs. Edna Lueking. Pallbearers were Pete Huff, Paul Bourne, Ben Pearson, Ed Schroeder, Frank Johnson and Eman. Interment was in the family lot at the Oxford cemetery.

Jauken, Atlanta; Out of town friends were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Luke, Mascot; Mr. Joel Bloom, Mascot; Mrs. Ralph Barker, Stamford; Mr. Bart Haffey, Cody, Wygl: Mr. and Mrs. Lou Lockwood, Loomis; Mrs. Douthan Fulk, Atlanta; Mrs. Clarence Skiles, Atlanta; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ireland, Arapahoe; Mr. Carl Watson, Arapahoe; Ralph Cole, Dodge City, Ia.
