Notes |
- DEATH OF MR. WM. PROUDFOOT
We regret to announce the death of Wm. Proudfoot, of the township of Woolwich, after a lingering illness, from which he suffered for years. He always bore his sufferings with patience and Christian fortitude. He began life in Scotland as a laborer in the lime-kilns, where it is supposed he contracted a disease, which gave him more or less trouble during the whole of his lifetime, ultimately resulting in his death. He emigrated to Canada while yet a young man, settled on a farm in the township of Dumfries. A few years ago he sold out there and bought a large farm in the township of Woolwich. He was largely respected at a honest upright citizen, kind and affectionate in his family. He leaves behind him a wife and two daughters to mourn his loss. Deceased was in the 66th year of his age.
Dumfries Reformer Feb 4 1880
