- Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Martin - Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Martin of St. Jacobs will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Martin is the former Elizabeth Brubacher. They were married August 28, 1928, at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, St. Jacobs. Their children are Ruth (Mrs. Maynard Bauman) of St. Jacobs and Lorraine (Mrs. Roy Bauman) of Elmira. They have six grandchildren.
Friends extended best wishes during an open house August 27 from 2 pm to 5 pm at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church. Before his retirement two years ago, Mr. Martin was employed at the Home Hardware office in St. Jacobs for 40 years.

MARTIN, Elizabeth (nee Brubacher) - Peacefully, on Sunday, June 26, 2005 at Heritage House, St. Jacobs, Elizabeth Martin, age 100 years, of St. Jacobs.Wife of the late Enoch B. Martin (1986). Lovingly remembered by Ruth and Maynard Bauman, Lorraine and Roy Bauman and her grandchildren and their families, Mark, Sharon, Dave and Mike Bauman; Beth, Virgil and Ben Martin; Marcia, Larry and David Shantz, Julie, Marcus and Caleb Wagler; Trent Bauman and Juanita Metzger; Trevor, Janet, Lucas and Leah Bauman; Kendal, Jennifer, Zachary and Malia North Bauman. Sister of Ada Brubacher, Curtis and Alice Brubacher and sister-in-law of Alice Brubacher.Predeceased by her parents, Menno M. and Almeta (Good) Brubacher; daughter Arlene (1936); brothers, Abner and Walter Brubacher; sister, Lucinda Cressman and infant great-granddaughter, Sarah North Bauman (2003).Elizabeth's family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Tuesday, June 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A family committal service will be held at St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery on Wednesday, June 29 followed by a memorial service for family and friends at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church at 11 a.m. (Wednesday) with Pastor Wendy Janzen officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee as expressions of sympathy.Thank you to the Staff of Heritage House for the kind and compassionate care given to Elizabeth.
