    • PAUL PRASCHAN DIED WEDNESDAY.

      Was County Surveyor and Well Known Citizen.

      Paul Praschan passed away at the Bad Axe hospital at six o'olock Wednesday morning. Mr. Praschan was taken ill with typhoid fever about three weeks ago He was taken to the Bad Axe hospital at once and for a time his case was considered very serious, but last week he began to improve and seemed to be on the road to recovery. On Monday he suddenly changed for the worse.

      Deceased was born in Alsace Loraine sixty-six years ago. When two years of age his parents moved to Canada and he accompanied them. In the year 1876 he came to this county and settled on the farm in Oliver township which he still owned at the time of his death. He was one of the first settlers of the county to go into the interior. About ten years ago he moved to Pigeon where he had since resided.

      Mr. Praschan was the leading surveyor of the county for the past twenty-five years. He also served two years on the common council of Pigeon.

      He is survived by a wife and eight children, viz: Charles of Saginaw; William, of Turner; David, of Bad Axe; Mrs. William Heaton, of Elkton; Paul of Sioux City, Iowa; Samuel, Lydia and Ida at home.

      The funeral service will be held at the home of his daughter Mrs William Heaton, of Elkton, at two o'clock Saturday afternoon and the remains will be laid to rest in the South Oliver cemetery. The county officials will act as pall bearers.
