  David Schmitt - David Schmitt, 76, of 188 Benton St., died Saturday at his home after a brief illness. Born Feb. 24, 1879, in Wilmot Township, he was a resident of Kitchener for the past 15 years. He farmed in Williamsburg for many years. His wife, the former Clara Israel, predeceased him Dec. 18, 1948. Surviving are a son, Cecil of Toronto; two daughters, Mrs. Edgar (Effie) Ritz and Miss Ruby Schmitt, both of Kitchener. Two grandchildren also survive. He was the last surviving member of the David Schmitt family. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
