    • Death of Mr. John Frank

      The death occurred unexpectedly on Monday, January 27th, in the person of one of our oldest and most highly respected residents in the person of John Frank, aged 63 yrs., 3 months, and 3 days.

      Deceased was around about the usual time on Monday morning and seemed in good health. He was in the stable harnessing his horses in order to go chopping, when his wife came alarmed at his long absence and going to the barn found her husband dead, having died very suddenly.

      The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon from his late residence to the Methodist Church for service where a very large number of friends gathered to pay their last tribute of respect to the memory of the deceased.

      The pall-bearers were: Messrs. August Dammeir, Joseph McCarty, Stephen Duench, George Foerster, William Seip, Henry Wahl.

      The late Mr. Frank was born near Hawkesville on the farm where he resided all his life time.

      In July 2nd, 1872 be married Miss Pauline Grasser.

      He is survived by his widow eight children, namely Clara Toronto, Mrs. Herb Copeland of London, Mrs. George Richert of Guelph, Army of Pentland near Elora, Edward of, Washington Territory, Mrs. Robt. Lester of Guelph, Pearl Winnifred at home. Also two brothers and one sister, Leonard of Hanover, Henry of Gowanstown, Mrs. John Jacobi of St. Joseph, Ont.
