- MR. MARTIN SCHADE PASSED AWAY SUNDAY MORNING.
Death came suddenly and unexpectedly 1 to one of Waterloo's oldest and most respected citizens in the person of Mr. Martin Schade, who passed away as his home, King street, Sunday morning at 11.30 o'clock, in his 78th year. Mr. Schade had been in New Hamburg on Wednesday and on Friday morning had been in Bridgeport on business. About three o'clock he complained of pains in his stomach and as the pain did not seem to go away a doctor was culled. He passed fairly good day Saturday, but continued to grow worse, and death relieved him of his sufferings Sunday morning. The deceased was born in Hesson, Germany, Aug. 3nd, 1882, and when quite young man came to this country.
He learned the trade of furrier and for a number of years carried on a successful business in this town. He was known from one end of the province to the other and his sad demise will be learned with regret by a large circle of friends.
For the past few years Mr. Schade has carried on a washing machine business, being the patentee of the famous Schade washer, a washer that is well known throughout this section of the province.
Mr. Schade was married 54 years ago last November to Miss Catharine Heiner, and thirteen children blessed this happy union. Three children predeceased the father.
Besides the aged widow the following children are left to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father: Annie (Mrs. Heberand), Waterloo; William, Dunkirk, N. Y.; Kate (Mrs. Sol. Beatty), Waterloo; Sephia (Mrs. H. B. Duering), Waterloo; Mollie (Mrs. Grasser), Bridgeport; Martin, Sleepy Eye, Minn., Lou, Dunkirk, N. Y.; Harry, Bridgeport; George, Stratford; Mary (Mrs. J. Beckner), at home.
The funeral arrangements have not been completed, and will be announced later.

A FIRST CLASS WASHER.
Mr Martin Shade of Waterloo, manufacturer of washing machines had several machines in the main building. According to our judgment this washing machine is peerless. It is so constructed that wherever it is used, on a carpet covered floor or not, splashing of water is impossible. There is no iron on the inside of the machine which is liable to rust and consequently the finest fabrics can be washed with it without danger of injury. A piston rod is connected with the washer and no matter how little or how much wash you have in the machine no inconvience will be experienced in running it and every article will be washed clean. The machine is worked by a lever and a child can operate it. Mr. Shade sold four of his machines to the St Joseph's Hospital Guelph and numererous others although the patent is quite new yet. The general verdict of all who have bought one is that it is a first-class machine and many letters praising it have been received by Mr Schade. You better try one yourself. Call on him at Waterloo or write. The machine is within reach of every family. Terms right.

MANUFACTURE OF. SCHADE WASHER
Will Be Continued -- Mrs. Sol. Beatty Takes Over Business
The business carried on by the late Mr. Martin Schade corner of King and Princess streets, Waterloo, has been purchased and taken over by Mrs. Sol. Beatty. The manufacture of the "Schade Washer" will be continued and water motors to operate the same will also be sold. The Schade Washer is a machine of superior merit and is used in hundreds of homes in Berlin and Waterloo and vicinity. Any one desiring a washer would do well to inspect these machines before buying.
