  ADAM DOERING KILLED Attempting to Board a Street Car at Waterloo Waterloo, Jan. 14.-Adam Doering, proprietor of the Waterloo Star Laundry, was instantly killed while attempting to board a Berlin & Waterloo street car opposite the hospital last night. He lived nearby and was on his way to the hockey match at Waterloo. The snow is very deep at that place, and the railway keep men shoveling out the cut. The Bridgeport car was coming to Waterloo loaded with Berlin hockey supporters, and, coming down the grade, was hailed by Mr. Doering. He attempted to get on the front end and failed, and the car struck him on the side of the head with great force, causing instant death. Deceased was a young man, about 36 years of age, and leaves a wife and small family. He was one of the most enthusiastic supporters of manly sports. This accident has cast a gloom over the twin city, as he was well known in both areas. The Berlin News Record 14 Jan 1903
