• Notes

  Death came very suddenly to Samuel Simmons on Saturday. He had just entered his home after being in the garden when the final call came, and without warning. Mr. Simmons was born on Oct. 17, 1843 in Shakespeare, Ontario, Canada. On January 29, 1863, he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Curtis. To this union were born 4 children: William, now of Detroit; Rutherford of Smith's Creek; Lottie, Mrs. Lee Edwards; and Dora, the later dying in infancy. The Simons family resided in the vicinity of Memphis for abt. 30 years, coming to Richmond but a few years since. The funeral services were held from the late home on Main Street on Tuesday at 2 o'clock, Rev. Norman LaMarche conducted them, assisted by Rev. Henry Nankervis of Memphis, who was Mr. Simon's paster for abt. 29 years. The Review 2 Jul 1915
