    • GALLAGHER, MATTHEW M.

      Following an illness of six months, on Tuesday, August 30, 1949, at his home at 75 Elmwood Ave, Galt. He was born in Ireland and came to Toronto in 1909. He farmed in Puslinch until 1940, when he came to Galt. He worked for seven years at Sheldon's Ltd. and for the past two years, at the Canadian Brass Co. He was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Irene Patterson of Hamilton; one son, Matthew R. Gallagher of Hamilton; two sisters, Margaret of New York; May (Mrs. F. Lynch) of Jersey City; and five grandchildren. Funeral from the T. Little and Son Funeral Home on Friday at 9: 45 to St. Patrick's Church for requiem mass at 10, sung by Msgr. E. A. Doyle. Pallbearers: Fred Godfrey, John Beattie, Oscar Simpson, Jack Simpson, J. Westbrook and Paul Schultz. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, where Rev. R. A. Jordan officiated.
