    • MORRIS, Joyce

The family of Joyce Morris (nee Dickens) sadly announces her passing, on July 29, 2012, of age related illness. Joyce was born in Draughton, England, on June 11, 1922, to Lillian and Sydney Dickens. Her father died when she was three months old and she and her mother moved to London to live with family. Joyce received her schooling there and upon completion was employed by the British Medical Association. She lived and experienced the terrors of the London blitz and it was here that she met and married Jack Morris, (to whom she was married for 47 years) while he was serving with the RCAF, Squadron 415. She came to Canada as a War Bride in November of 1944, after a harrowing journey across the North Atlantic to live with her husband's family until his return after the war ended. They had three beloved children---Linda Morris Short, Robert Morris and Brian Morris, all of Cambridge. She is also survived by her dear grandchildren, Ian Short and Lisa Short (Peter Faragher) and her loving great-grandchildren, Lily and Cameron Faragher and Katherine (Katie) and John Short. Joyce was a devoted wife and Mother and was dearly loved for her cheerful nature and gentle kindness. She will remain in our hearts forever. The family will receive friends at the T. LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 223 Main Street, Cambridge, Ontario, on Thursday, August 2, 2012, from 1 p.m. until time of service in the chapel at 2 p.m. A reception will follow after the service at the Funeral Home. Private interment at Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge.
