Notes |
- MILLER, Muriel (nee Sheen) Passed away peacefully at Stirling Heights, Cambridge, on August 30, 2014. Muriel was in the 102nd year of a life well lived. Beloved wife of the late Earl Miller - her devoted husband of 34 years. Predeceased by her parents, William and Mary Jane Sheen, and her siblings and their spouses: Jennie Coleman, William Sheen (May), twin brother Ernest Sheen (Ruth) and Edith Dyment (Ken). Muriel was step-mother to Earl's daughters, Beverly Zatta (Rico) and Shirley Howarth (Wayne). Treasured aunt to Paul Coleman (Audrey) and Jennifer Harrhy (John), of Wales, UK, and Janet Scherer (Bob), Jane Rooney (Dan) and Gail Gillespie (Jim). Predeceased by nephews Glyn Sheen (Carol), and David Sheen (Janice), of New Hampshire. Muriel and her zest for life will be sorely missed by extended family members, longtime friends, fellow congregants and choir members. She was a loyal member of Wesley United Church and in later years, attended services at Avenue Road Baptist and Forward Church. Muriel enjoyed the companionship of fellow Stirling Heights residents and the extraordinary care and compassion of the staff and volunteers during her final years. Deeply committed to her faith and to all those dear to her, "Mue" was a great source of strength, support and fun. Muriel is resting at Corbett Funeral Home , 95 Dundas Street N., Cambridge, where her family will receive friends on September 6, at 10:00 a.m. - one hour before the funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Stirling Heights Long Term Care Centre, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the A.L.S. Society.
