  • Notes
    • Leah was born and spent her early childhood in Baden. She accompanied her family to Hay Township. Leah married Christian Schwartzentruber, brother to Magdalena and Catherine who were married to Leah's brothers. Leah and Christian were married by Bishop Peter Litwiller--probably in Wilmot Township. Leah and Christian remained with Barbara on the homestead, gaining ownership in 1881. They sold it to their youngest son David. He was unmarried and had no children and willed the farm to his grand nephew Glenn D. Schwartzentruber. Glenn sold it to Horst Mathonia, an immigrant, whose family still occupied it in 2000.
