  MRS. JACOB BIRD - NEE MILLER Mrs. Jacob Bird passed away quietly on Sunday morning, April 26th. She had been living with her only son Samuel at North Woolwich. Mrs. Bird was born there 90 years ago plus four months. Sixty one years ago she was united in holy matrimony to Jacob Bird. In 1915 they moved to Elmira and resided there for some 21 years. When her husband died, she returned to the former home with her son Samuel. Her departure leaves to mourn her loss the only son, one brother Louis Miller, of Elmira, three grandsons, the granddaughter Mrs. S. Bird, many friends and loved one. Mrs. Bird was a member of Zion Evangelical Church, Elmira, but the last few years supported the Woolwich church. About a year ago, Mrs. Bird suffered a stroke and later injured her hip which from that time on kept her constantly in bed until she passed on. She was noted as a respectable and peace living citizen and church member. The memorial service was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Woolwich church and the body interred in the Elmira Cemetery. Rev. E. N. Mohr, the pastor officiated.
