• Notes

  Alexander Montgomery of Buckeye township died Dec. 26. He was born in Ayr, Ont., Feb. 26, 1861, and died at the age of 70 years and 10 months. His funeral service was held Dec. 28, at the Presbyterian church in Beaverton, and was conducted by Rev. Pollard, pastor of the M. E. church. The burial took place in Highland cemetery, Gladwin. Mr. Montgomery became a resident of Buckeye township 31 years ago, developed a farm, was a highly respected and honored citizen of his township and at various times held school and township offices. Surviving him are his wife and seven children, Mrs. Grace McKibbin of Beaverton, Mrs. Mary McDonald of Montana, Mrs. Nellie Inman of Oklahoma, Mrs. Ruth O'Flaherty of Detroit and Mrs. Maggie Hogan of Detroit, James Montgomery of Detroit and John Montgomery of Beaverton.
