- Fenner, Clayton Lance Corporal. Enlisted at Galt with 111th Battalion under the name of Henry Frank Clayton on March 13, 1916. He was born in New Hamburg. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fenner, now live on Menno St., Waterloo, Ontario. He married Ruby Essig of Samuelson St., Galt shortly before going overseas. He worked as a reporter on the Galt Reporter and on The News Record of Kitchener. He was killed in action in April 1917.1
