- George Hartman, a member of an old time family in this section, slipped into the Big Beyond on Friday at 1:15 p. m. in Ben Lomond, where he has been for some few days with a brother, Charlie Hartman. George had been failing health for some weeks and the end was hourly expected. He was born in Providence, Ontario, in 1860, coming to Santa Cruz in 1876. A woodsman, he has lived around Santa Cruz county all his life, and of late years has resided on his ranch on Kings creek. He leaves among other relatives, brothers Jacob, Johnny, Meno, Charlie and Isaiah Hartman. The remains are at Wessendorf's but the funeral araugements have not yet been completed.
