    • Death of Mrs. Sauer

      Mrs. Elizabeth Sauer, for sixty- two years a resident of Waterloo, passed away on Sunday May 21st, at the advanced age of 82 years, 3 mont hs and 3 days.

      Deceased had been in good health up to two weeks ago when she suf- fered a paralytic stroke which rend- ered her speechless. She lost con- sciousness two days before she died. She was born in Germany and came to Waterloo in 1849, when she mar- ried Geo. Gerhardt who predeceased her 40 years. She then married Jacob Sauer, who died about 38 years ago. Five children survive, namely, Mrs. Tefel, Rochester, Geo. Gerhardt, Lizzie and Henry of Wat- erloo, and Jacob of Guelph.

      The funeral took place Tuesday at two o'clock to the Luth- eran church for service and Mount Hope cemetery for interment.
