- Thomas Padden
Hundreds of persons including patrons of the Kitchener-Waterloo Street Railway, learned with regret of the passing at 12.15 o'clock Monday morning in the sudden death of Thomas Padden at his home, 1207 King street east, after nearly 32 years as motorman on the K-W. Railway. The veteran railwayman and oldest motorman, who was superannuated Sept. 30 of last year, was born in Stratford. He was about 62 years of age. He came to Kitchener 32 years ago and joined the street railway staff on Jan. 16, 1901.
Mr. Padden had been in usual health until Sunday morning. He suffered from asthma.
Surviving are, two sons, Thomas, of Kitchener, Earl, of Toronto, and two daughters, Mrs Leo Schaller, Preston, and Miss Cecilia at home. His wife predeceased him two years ago. There are also three brothers.
The funeral was held Wednesday morning to St. Joseph's Church. I Burial was made in Mount Hope cemetery.
