- NICHOLSON, David Rodney David Nicholson of Heidelberg, aged 32 years. died suddenly, on August 12, 1998, in Cambridge, Ontario.
Beloved husband and soulmate of Wendy (nee Burk); devoted Dad of Mitchel Keith, 9. Reid Wesley. 7 and Joshua David, 3. Will be sadly missed by his mother, the former Margaret Goudy of Kitchener; his brother, Bruce and his wife Edie of Kitchener; his sis- ter. Phyllis and her husband Ron Montgomery of New Dundee; grandson of Velda Nicholson of Saskatchewan; cherished son-in-law of Rev. and Mrs. Roger and Sandra Burk of Michigan: loved brother-in-law of Cara and her husband Joe Harvey, Wesley and Ben and his wife Gretchen, all of Michigan. Very special uncle of Sonya (nee Montgomery) and her husband Burt Wilkins, Tami (nee Nicholson) and her husband Curtis Sutton, Mark Montgomery, Tyler Nicholson, Shai, Reyni and Kyli Harvey. Will be missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his father, Rev. Keith Nicholson in 1986,
Dave died tragically in a diving accident while on duty as a member of the Waterloo Regional Police Emergency Response Team. He will be sorely missed by his police family whose love and dedication through the past week has been a tremendous support to his family and friends.
Dave was a graduate of Eastwood Collegiate in Kitchener and received a degree in Psychology from Huntington College, Huntington, Indiana in 1988. He joined the Waterloo Regional Police Association the same year. An active member of Stanley Park United Brethern Church in Kitchener. Dave's church family mourn his loss. Dave's family feels blessed to live in the close knit community of Heidelberg, where he enjoyed being involved in neighborhood activities.
The family will receive visitors at Kitchener Gospel Temple, 9 Conway Dr., at River Road, Kitchener, Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 9-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held at Kitchener Gospel Temple at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998, with Pastor John Pearce officiating. Private family burial will follow.
Dave's family request that donations be made to the Keith Nicholson Mem- orial Missions Fund. The David Nicholson Trust Fund or the charity of your choice.
