- PASSED AWAY AT FUNERAL OF HER SON-IN-LAW
The extremely sad and sudden death of Bertha Schmidt, wife of Mr. Herman Schmidt. Willow street, took place on Monday afternoon about three o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Weber, Cedar street. Her demise took place while the remains of her deceased son-in law were being carried from the house to be conveyed to their last resting place. Mrs. Schmidt suffered
an attack of heart failure shortly before the service was commenced by Rey. E. Bocke'mann, but it was not considered serious. The deceased, however, failed to recover and passed away as the pall-bearers were carrying the casket containing the body of Mr. John Weber out of the house. She was in her 50th year, and is survived by her bereaved husband, four daughters and four sons, namely, Bertha, (Mrs. J. Weber) Annie, Martha and Laura (Mrs. Fred Miller) Baden, Jacob, Henry, Albert and Clarence, all of Waterloo. The funeral will take place from the residence, Willow street, to Mount Hope cemetery.
The sympathy of the community will be extended to the bereaved fam ily in their double affliction.
