- Claude Necker Dies in Hospital
Claude Necker, 54. Waterloo town engineer since 1925 and an employee of the engineering department since he was 14, died last night at Victoria Hospital, London, Ont.
Mr. Necker, who had been in poor health for some time, motored to Grand Bend over the weekend to open his summer cottage. He became seriously ill at a Grand Bend hotel and was removed to London hospital Monday night. dying last evening without regaining consciousness.
Deceased, who resided at 94 John Blvd., Waterloo, was graduated in 1916 as a civil engineer from the University of Toronto. Prior to becoming town engineer he worked as an assistant to the late Charles G. Moogk.
Born in Waterloo on Jan. 12, 1892. he was a son of the late Dr. C. T and Mrs. Noecker He attended First United Church and was a member of Waterloo Young Men's Club.
Surviving are his wife, the former Edna C. Weitzel, and one sister Eloise E. Necker, Waterloo.
The remains are resting at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home where service will be held Friday at 2:30 pm. with Rev. D I. Forsyth officiating, assisted by Dr. H. A Kellerman. Interment will be in Chesterfield Cemetery.
