- BUSINESS NEVER BETTER IN PERIOD OF 23 YEARS
Irvin Hamel, Proprietor of Broom Company, Reports Business Brisk.
Evidence that the depression is lifting is shown in a statement made last week by Mr. Irwin Hamel, proprietor of the Waterloo Broom Factory, that in the 23 years of business he has never had so much work to turn out as he has at present. The plant is located at 116 Noecker street.
Mr. Hamel has increased his staff of five to twelve and is now turning out brooms to the tune of about 60 dozen per day. It is not uncommon for the small staff to turn out 75 dozen in one day or 400 dozen in one week.
Mr. Hamel stated that several shipments of about 50 dozen brooms each were made last week. He has on hand at present several orders for 500 dozen brooms each as well as his smaller orders. The plant is running at full capacity and every bit of space is being used.
