    • Obituary for Josephine Schweitzer

      Harmer Schweitzer, Josephine (nee McCabe): Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at St. Mary's Hospital on April 3, 2007, 3 weeks short of her 90th birthday.

      Loving mother of Bill Harmer of Arnprior, Marlene and her husband John Schmidt, and Brenda and her husband Bruce Reinhart, all of Kitchener. Mother-in-law of Heather Harmer of Baden. Cherished grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Art (Delores), Emerald (Jean), and Bob (Maudy) McCabe, Beatrice Lundy, Loretta (Eddie) Mello and Mary Hughes and sister-in-law to Marg, Jean and Delena McCabe.

      Predeceased by her first husband, Maynard Harmer, her second husband, Walter Schweitzer, her parents, Ernest and Emily McCabe, brothers Bill, Arnold and Ike McCabe, sisters, Elva Crawford, Dorothy Boneau, Edna Bietz and Shirley in infancy.

      Josephine was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. She previously worked at General Instruments, Kitchener, and was also with the Red Cross Home Care for several years as a volunteer.

      Josephine's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Saturday, April 7, 2007 from 10am until the time of Josephine's memorial service at 11am in the Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation has taken place. Josephine's cremated remains will be interred in Breslau Mennonite Cemetery at a later date.

      As expressions of sympathy, donations to Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by the family.
