  • Notes 
    • Funeral services for Christian Brandt, Sr., were .held January 13, at St. Johns Lutheran church. The Rev.Walper officated. Several appropriate selections were sung by a choir composed of Miss Rose Steuck, Miss Lillian Neitzke, Mrs. L. 0. Walper, Carl Neitzke and Rev. Walper.

      Brief mention was made in our last issue of Mr. Brandt's death, which occurred Monday, January 10. He was visiting at the time at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arnold Wacker near Hartley. Mr. Brandt and Mr. and Mrs. Wacker were preparing to go to the home of a neighbor when he was suddenly sticken and died without regaining consciousness.

      Mr.Brandt was born October 9. 1865, in Heidelberg, Ont., - Canada, and died January" 10, 1927, at the age of 61 years, 3 months, I day. When quite young he moved with his parents to Waterloo, Ont, where he grew to manhood. He came to O'Brien county in 1890.

      He was married in Sanborn December 18, 1891, to Miss Augusta David, who survives her. husband. Four children were born to them, all of whom survive their father. They are Christian B., Robert and Emma (Mrs. Will Steuck), all of Sanborn, and Mrs. Arnold Wacker of Hartey. He is also survived by a brother and two sisters who reside in Canada, and by eight grandchildren. Following their marraige Mr. And Mrs. Brandt went to Mr. Brandt's old home at Waterloo, Ont. where they, lived for a little over a year. They then made. their home here forthree years and returned to Waterloo where they lived until 1905, when the family back to Sanborn to remain.

      Mr. Brandt was confirmed. in the Lutheran church early in life and remained a conscientious Christian. He was a faithful member of St. Johh's Evangelical Lutheran church and a man who enjoyed the respect of those who knew him..
