    • CONKEY, ALEXANDER

      On the night of May 18, 1906 at 9:20, Mr. Conkey of 81 Rose St. in Galt, in his 79th year. Death was due to general decline. Mr. Conkey was born in Wigtonshire, Scotland and came to Canada at the age of 3 years, his parents settling in Dumfries. Later, he moved to Puslinch, near Clyde, where he resided until about five years ago, when he retired to Galt. Mrs. Conkey predeceased him by thirteen years. Survived by a family of four girls and two boys, Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Orr of Galt; Martha and Jemima, at home; John of Galt; and Samuel on the homestead.

      -Information from the marriage certificate of Jane Bell Conkey: Born c. 1856, daughter of Alexander and Sarah Conkey. Married George Scott.
