      Puslinch Man Dropped Dead

      A Quarryman Expired Suddenly Near Schaw Station

      A quarryman dropped dead from heart failure at Christie's Quarry, near Schaw Station, while at work on Saturday, August 7, 1915. No one was with him at the time he expired but his body was discovered by an Italian, who was working in the quarry a short time afterwards. A coroner, after investigating the matter, decided that an inquest was not necessary. Mr. Evans was about 50 years of age and spent a day in the city (Guelph) two days before his death, when he paid a visit to his brother, Thomas Evans of Hooper St. Interment took place on Tues. Aug. 10th. Besides his brother, Thomas of Guelph, he leaves another brother, George, residing in Puslinch.

      - Information from the death certificate: Born in Puslinch, son of James Evans and Elizabeth Stewart. Died at the quarry on lot 29, front of the Gore of Puslinch.
