  BENDER, Mrs. Alla (Veronica) Peacefully, on Tuesday, July 23, 1985, at her home, Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton, Veronica Bender, of Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton and formerly of Wellesley, Mrs. Bender was born in Wellesley township, 90 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Magdalena Zehr. She was a member of Maple View Mennonite Church and was also in the WMSC of the church. Beloved mother of Delmar and his wife Mary of RR2, Wellesley, Madeline (Mrs. Alvin Roth) of London, Ont. and Miss Jean Bender of Elkhart, Ind., Grace (Mrs. Oliver Brunk) of Tavistock; dear sister of Martha (Mrs. Tom Coulter) of Listowel and Emma (Mrs. Aaron Gerber) of Crosshill; lovingly remembered by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Allan Bender, October 2, 1972; by one son, Vernon, in 1927; five brothers; four sisters and one granddaughter. Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 4o Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive friends this evening from 7-9 and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. At noon Friday, July 26, removal will be made to Maple View Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2: 30 p.m. Rev. Alvin Leis and Deacon Alan Nafziger will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery The Kitchener-Waterloo Record Newspaper 24 Jul 1985 ________________________________ Bender.- Veronica, daughter of Peter and Magdalena (Zehr) Lichti, was born in Wellesley Twp., Ont.; died at her home in Milverton, Ont., July 23, 1985; aged 90 y. She was married to Allan Bender, who died on Oct. 2, 1972. Surviving are one son (Delmar), 3 daughters (Madeline-Mrs. Alvin Roth, Jean Bender, and Grace-Mrs. Oliver Brunk), 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters (Martha-Mrs. Tom Coulter and Emma-Mrs. Aaron Gerber). She was preceded in death by one son (Vernon), 5 brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter. She was a member of Maple View Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on July 26, in charge of Alvin Leis and Alan Nafziger; interment in the church cemetery Gospel Herald - Volume 78, Number 52 - December 24, 1985, page 906.
