Mrs. Joseph Kolb Passes Away After Long and Useful Life
The death took place on Tuesday afternoon at the home of her son. Mr. Oliver Kolb on the old Kolb homestead on the Breslau road of Nancy Stauffer relict of the late Joseph Kolb. She was in her 73rd year and her taking off was due to the weakness and infirmity of old age, though she was able to be about the house until a few days before her death. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. from her late home to the East End Mennonite Church and cemetery for service and burial. Her death marks the first break in a family of ten children. She was born in Blenheim Township where she was brought up, and resided until the time of her marriage in 1866 to Mr. Joseph Kolb, who predeceased her ten years ago. From the time of her marriage to her death she resided pm the Kolb farm on the Breslau road. She lived a quiet home life which radiated helpfulness and a Christian charity real and faith in that her made her home not but only be a queen own loved by a large circle of friends.
She is survived by two sons. Oliver on the homestead and Irvin near Waterloo, and two daughters, Mrs. G. L. Bender, Elkhart, Indiana and Lucinda at home. The brothers surviving are: Jacob and David of Caledonia: Peter and Henry of Plattsville, Daniel of Fairview. Michigan and Enos and Jared. of Giermfask.. Michigan: and the sisters are Mrs. Bray of Woodstock and Mrs. Gofton, of Plattsville.
