Samuel Petch, for many years a well known resident of Kitchener, passed away Tuesday night at his home, 69 Church street, following a brief illness. Mr. Petch was for a number of years a county constable and served in an official capacity at the County Jail. His demise will be regretted by a host of friends in Kitchener and throughout the county. The deceased was born in Wellesley Township on his father's farm. He was the son of David Petch and Sarah Hawke who were pioneer settlers of Watertoo county. There are left to mourn his death his wife, three sons, John. James and Pierce, one daughter, Mrs. S. Letson, three brothers, John of Listowel, Pierce of Manitoba, and Robert of Tillsonburg, and three sisters. Mrs. P. McCallum, of Tronto, Mrs. S. Cohue of Tillsonburg and Mrs. Nelson of Tillsonburg
The funeral was held Friday afternoon and 2 o'clock from his late residence. Interment will take place at the Petch-Hawke Cemetery at Hawkesville.
