Mrs. John Haunn was in Her 90th Year
One of New Hamburg's oldest residents, Mrs. Theresa Haunn, was called by death at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tobias Wanklin, early last Friday morning, Nov. 24th, in her 90th year. Although feeble for some time she was only ill for a week.
The late Mrs. Haunn whose maiden name was Theresa Minsterman, was born in Bavaria, Germany, and came to Canada 52 years ago. The family resided at Cassel for some years and later moved onto a farm at Haysville. For the past 28 years the deceased was a resident of New Hamburg. She was a devout member of the iRoman Catholic Church and was held in high esteem by all who knew her.
Her husband, the late John Haunn, predeceased her 10 years ago, but she leaves two sons, Aloisyus, of New Hamburg, and Max, of Pittsburg, Penna., and two daughters, Mrs. Tobias Wanklin, 'of New Hamburg, and Mrs. James Ekins, of Woodstock, besides 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
The funeral was held on Monday morning to Holy Family Church where requiem mass was read by Rev. Father Winter. Interment took place in the local R. C. cemetery.
