Notes |
- HARTLEY WHITTAKER.
Word was received here this morning of the death at Detroit of Hartley Whittaker, for many years a resident of Brantford. Born in England, he came to Canada as a boy, securing his education at New Hamburg. On reaching maturity, he returned to the Old Land, where he was wed. He afterwards came back to Canada, taking up residence in Brantford, with Whittaker and Kitchen, being an accountant afterwards moving to Detroit, where he was a member of the staff of the Union Trust company. He had been in weakened health for the past couple of years, due to heart trouble.
He is survived by a widow, two sons, Leslie and Geoffrey, both of Detroit, and three daughters, Mrs. Leslie McConkey, Miss Dorothy and Miss Phyllis, both at home in Detroit.
The remains will be taken to New Hamburg on Saturday, with a ser- vice and interment at St. James church, near New Hamburg.
