Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Schweitzer Prominent Heidelberg Citizens For 39 Years

Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Schweitzer, Elgin Street, Waterloo, have completed plans to observe their golden, wedding anniversary on Friday, April 21st, and will be at home to their relatives and friends from three o'clock to six o'clock in the afternoon and from seven to nine o'clock in the evening on that day. Mr. Schweitzer was born near Heidelberg, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schweitzer. Mrs. Schweitzer before her marriage was Miss Mary Hahn, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hahn of near Heidelberg. The bride and bridegroom of fifty years ago were married at the home of the bride's parents by Rev. G. F. Haist, pastor of the Heidelberg Evangelical Church. After their marriage they resided on the "Spring" Farm at Heidelberg for 39 years. On February 28th, 1928, they moved to Waterloo where they have resided for eleven years. Their family included four children of whom two (Clara) Mrs. Emil Schneider, and their only son, Clayton, are deceased. The remaining members of their family are Miss Pearl Schweitzer at home and Miss Vera Schweitzer, B.A., of Viola, Wisconsin, U.S.A. The latter is in the ministry of the Congregational Church and has three charges under her care. Prior to entering the ministry she attended college in Naperville, Illinois, and University in Chicago. She was a missionary to China for three years, but owing to the outbreak of war in that land she returned to this continent and was a pastor's assistant in three churches of the Congregational faith in Chicago for six years. She is now carrying on ministerial duties in Wisconsin. Mr. and Mrs. Schweitzer are highly esteemed members of Emmanuel Evangelical Church, Waterloo, and both are enjoying good health at the present time.
