- A-1-77 Jacob Lorentz In matter of appointment of Guardian to the infant daughter of Jacob Lorentz, late of the Township of Woolwich, deceased.
The Petition of Mary Lorentz, of the Township of Wilmot, humbly sheweth that Jacob Lorentz, formerly of the said Township of Wilmot, Yeoman, departed life on or before the twelfth day of May, in the year of our Lord 1855, leaving your petitioner, the above said Mary Lorentz, surviving him as his only child and still yet an infant under Eighteen years of age, and that she has no legal Guardian. That Mary and Heinrich, her mother now lawful wife of Lawrence Heinrich, of the Township of Wellesley is a fit and proper person, and desirous to be appointed Guardian of her said infant daughter and able to give sufficient sureties for her administration of the estate belonging to her said infant daughter and of the trust that shall be entrusted into her hands. Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays that the said Margaret Heinrich may be appointed such Guardian… Berlin 25 October 1855
And I the aforesaid Lawrence Heinrich do hereby declare my free consent of my said wife Margaret being appointed Guardian as aforesaid.
28 November 1855, that the undersigned Margaret Heinrich and her lawful husband Lawrence Heinrich of the Township of Wilmot and David S. Shoemaker of the Village of Berlin, Esquire, Registrar, are jointly and severally firmly held and bound by these Presents unto Mary Lorentz, infant daughter of Jacob Lorentz, Yeoman, deceased, and her heirs, executors and administrators into the true and just Penal sum of Five Hundred Pounds. Conditions follow:
…if the said Margaret Heinrich shall faithfully fulfill and perform due and true administrations of the Estate belonging to the said infant Mary Lorentz also keep and give free and correct account thereof and also give and pay over to the said Mary Lorentz, when she shall [come?] upon the full age of twenty one years, or sooner whenever the said Guardianship shall determine or whenever else she shall and may be desired by the Judge of the said Court…
Margaret Heinrich accepts the appointment of Guardian.
