- KOEGLER, John B..
John Bruno - Koegler, passed away, at K-W Hospital, on July, 7, 1990, in his 87th year. Born in Sachsen, Germany on January 17, 1904. He came to Canada in 1920 In 1926 he married Camilla. Muhlstadt who predeceased him in 1983 John was employed at Electrohome for 48 years and was one of the oldest members of the Quarter Century Club. He began building phonola machines in 1921 and assembled the first Grimes radio in 1925. He was involved in the development of Electrohome's first humidifiers and domestic fans, the first products that carried the Electrohome name across Canada He was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, played the chimes of St. Peter's for many years, along with his sons. He was a member of church council and the men's choir Chairman of the Music Committee and Brotherhood and was instrumental in establishing the Radio Room facilities to introduce the radio and TV ministry. He was a member of the Waterloo Historical Society and was the historian and archivist for St. Peter's Lutheran Church and Electrohome Industries for many years.
Surviving are his two sons and their wives, Gerhard and Audrie, Martin and Erika and his daughter and husband, Esther and Ayrton Kipp. Also surviving is one brother, Arno; 10 grandchildren, Joel, Kim, Eric, Dan, Cynthia, Jim, Tristan, Damon, Adrian and Nathan and sev en great-grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Sasha, Nicolai, Erin. Brandyn and Michael. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Anna Koegler; three brothers, Kurt, Fred and Walter and one grandchild, John. John's family will receive friends at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener. Monday afternoon and evening (today). Funeral will take place at the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel on Tuesday at 4 p.m., Pastor Ron Leonard officiating. Interment follows at Waterloo Mount Hope cemetery.
