- Barbara Shoemaker, "the eldest daughter of John Shoemaker, was born March 21st, 1805. She never came to Canada but lived all her days in Montgomery County. She was married to John Roat who was born July 14th, 1799, and died October 31st, 1869. They had a large family. After her husband's death she had her home with her daughter, Mary, who resided in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, where she died November 12th, 1877."
