At the Victoria Hospital, London, Ont., on Sunday, Nov. 2, 1980, James Johnston, formerly of 140 Weber St. E., Kitchener, age 90 years.
Born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. From 1914 to 1918, served overseas with the Canadian Army, a member of the Canadian Legion, Branch 50, in Kitchener.
Surviving are two step- sons and one step-daughter; one brother, Robert Johnston of Aberdeen, Scotland; one nephew, Mr. G. Kiernan of Montreal, Que.; two nieces, Peggy (Mrs. R. J. Brown) of Kitchener and Betty (Mrs. L. Buckingham) of Sarnia. He is also survived by nieces and nephews in Scotland. He was predeceased by his parents, John Johnston and the former Margaret Cruickshank, his wife the former Cecile Bellesuelle, five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral service will be held at the Covenant Chapel of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Queen and Weber Streets in Kitchener, on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Grant MacDonald officiating. Interment Woodland cemetery.
