- PTE. EDWARD HEMMERLY
Serving in Germany, Pte, Edward Hemmerly is reported to have been wounded in recent action, but no details have been received by his wife, Mrs. Effie Hemmerly, 101 Mill St., Kitchener.
The 30-year-old solidier is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hemmerly, 13 Princess St., Waterloo. Enlisting July 18, 1944, he went with a reinforcement group to an infantry unit, arriving overseas Dec. 24, 1944. Prior to reaching Germany he fought in Belgium.
Born in Waterloo, he was educated at Central School and at the K-W Collegiate. He was employed at John Lang & Sons. before
joining the Canadian Army.
PTE. EDWARD HEMMERLY
Pte. Edward Hemmerly, 101 Mill St., who was reported wounded about ten days ago, is now at No. 10 Canadian General Hospital, Belgium, his wife has been informed.. Writing five days after he had his leg broken by a German shell he said he lost a great deal of blood while lying out in the open for nine hours before being located and, given attention. An artery had been severed along with the fracture.
