- BERLIN'S BATHS.
Mr. Julius Yaeger has the Only Public Bath.
"Cleanliness is next Godliness" is a maxim oft repeated and generally believed. Personal cleanliness marks the gentleman and is an attribute to be carefully cultivated by every man who desires to be thought well of by his fellows. That is probably why a slovenly barber shop is repulsive to so many men. Above every other place, a man likes to go into a clean, tidy and inviting tonsorial parlor. Such neatness is the earmarks of the successful barber and this applies perfectly to Mr. Julius Jaeger's shop at No. [ ] King St. West. This is a three-chair shop, roomy, airy and always as neat as a new pin. A carefully-selected stock of cigars, pipes and tobaccos, well displayed, are a feature of this shop. It is Mr. Jaeger's intention to put in, very soon, an up-to-date shoe-shining stand, one that will be a credit to Berlin. Of Mr. Jaeger personally, little need be said as he is a Berlin boy-born and brought up in Canada's best town. He has followed his calling here for over fifteen years, being associated with his brother for ten years or up till about five years ago. Launching out for himself, he, with characteristic enterprise, built the block in which his shop is now located and fitted it up with every modern appliance. Always employing the most competent help, his patrons get only the very best of service. In connection with his shop, Mr. Jaeger has established a public bath. This is also fitted up in the best possible style for tub and shower baths and with hot and cold water. It is the only thing of the kind in Berlin and Mr. Jaeger deserves much credit for his enterprise in this connection.
