  • Notes
    • CAMPBELL, ANDREW L.. was born near Belmont, Ontario on October 7, 1884, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Campbell. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1908, interned in Buffalo, and began to practice in Edmonton. He was said to have been in Edmonton ten years, but the first mention of him in Kitchener was found in 1922.

At one time a well known surgeon in the area, he was an individualist and adhered to his own notions of conducting a practice. He would not visit his postoperative cases, although he somehow managed to maintain a good relationship with them, he never sent out accounts, so his patients found it necessary to make their own financial arrangements with him. This system was frustrating to the income tax people, who periodically brought him into court.

He was not much of a mechanic, and Dr. W. Sehl tells of being driven by him to a consultation in Breslau, going all the way in second gear.

He died on March 15. 1950 and was survived by his widow, one son, Dr. Donald, and one daughter.
