- Jacob Shoemaker, "the second eldest son of the old progenitor, was born in Pfaltz, Germany, March 31st, 1708. He was twenty-nine years of age when he, in company with his parents and the rest of the family came to America. After being in America for a year or so he formed an acquaintance with Susannah Schueler to whom he was married in the year 1740. She was born in Basle, Switzerland, February 19th, 1719, and died November 20th, 1789. They resided in Montgomery County, near Schiebach (Now spelled Skippack), where they had a family of eight children"
