- HALLEY, GEORGE was born on September 10, 1839 at Aurora, he graduated from Victoria College Medical Department in Toronto in 1869, and spent about a year in Elmira.
According to the reference work "One Hundred Years of Medicine and Surgery in Missouri, "he located in Kansas City Missouri in 1870. He is listed in Polk's Medical Directory 1893 as Professor of Clinical Surgery, University Medical College of Kansas City, of which he was one of the organizers, and Proprietor of Halley's Surgical Hospital, he died in Kansas City on March 11, 1918 aged 78.
The only local reference to him is in the report of a court action in which the defendant was accused of being in possession of Dr. Halley's overcoat.
