  HARVEY, FRANCIS RUDD, was born at Arthur, a son of Mr. John T. Harvey. He was a graduate of the University of Toronto Medical Faculty, in the class of 1910. He took postgraduate work in New York and subsequently obtained a Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons. He practised at Goose Lake, Saskatchewan, at first, and later moved to Edmonton. In the First World War he joined the Royal Canadian Medical Corps at Edmonton, served two years in casualty clearing stations and then was in charge of a military hospital at Burlingham, England. He later was appointed to a hospital ship in which he served until the spring of 1919. His card appeared in the Daily Telegraph on September 11, 1919. Dr. Frank Harvey, Surgeon. 18 Weber St. W. He became one of the leading surgeons in the community, with patients being referred to him from a considerable area surrounding. . He was firm in his opinions, and tended to be impatient with opposition. He was interested in sports and at one time was an ardent if irascible curler. In 1930 he was joined by his brother, Miln C. Harvey, with whom he shared office facilities, latterly at 131 Frederick St. He died on August 29, 1950 following surgery. He was predeceased by his eldest son who was killed in action in 1942 in the Fleet Air Arm. His widow, two sons and a daughter survived him. Dr. Alexander D. Campbell, Doctors in Waterloo County 1852-1925 _______________ Dr. Frank Harvey Dies Following Brief Illness A prominent Kitchener Physician and surgeon, Dr. Frank R. Harvey, F.A.C.S. of Highland Rd. West, died today at St. Mary's Hospital following 10-day illness. Born at Arthur, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John T. Harvey. Dr. Harvey served in the First World War with the Canadian Army Medical Corps in France. He came to Kitchener in 1920. Previously he practised in Saskatchewan and Edmonton. Toronto Graduate He was a graduate of the faculty of medicine at the University of Toronto and did post-graduate work in New York. He was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, member of the North Waterloo Medical Society, the Ontario Medical Association and the Canadian Medical Association. He was also a member of the Masonic Order, the Vallette Preceptory, and a Shriner of the Mocha Temple, London. He was member of the Westmount Golf and Country Club and a past president of the Granite Curling Club. Dr. Harvey was an adherent of Trinity United Church. Son Killed Overseas Surviving is his widow, the former Maisie Robson, two sons, James and Francis, Jr., and one daughter, Barbara Ann, all at home. His eldest son, John, was killed in action in 1942 with the Fleet Air Arm. Also surviving are two brothers, William A., Pasqua, Sask., Dr. Milne C., Kitchener; and one sister, Mrs. W. A.
