    • HARVEY, WILLIAM HENRY was born at Princeton, Ont. on February 26, 1889. He first went into banking, before entering the medical faculty of the University of Toronto, he graduated in the class of 1922, a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha fraternity.

He began to practise in Baden in 1923 or 1924, and moved to Kitchener in 1938. He brought with him his sign, which read simply "Dr. Harvey." He had to have it amended when the other Harveys discovered that patients referred to them were turning up in the wrong office, He studied dermatology in New York and combined this with his general practice. At the time of his retirement, in 1966, his office was at 171 Queen St. S.

He was the official historian of the North Waterloo Medical Society, and wrote the history of that body when the K-W Academy of Medicine was formed. He was active in church affairs of the St. John's Anglican Church, he made a hobby of stamp collecting with an award winning collection which he exhibited at stamp shows.

He used to tell of coming into his office on a Sunday afternoon to find a man he reconnized as a narcotic addict rolling around on the floor, feigning pain, He gave him a box of pills containing a powerful purgative, telling him to take one tablet every hour. The next morning he was to assist Dr. Sheill at surgery, and the surgeon being late, explainedi "I was up all night with the damndest case of diarrhoea I. have ever seen" Dr. Harvey maintained a discreet silence.

Following an illness of some two months he died on March 15, 1972. His wife predeceased him in 1966, and he was survived by his daughter.
