    • YANTZI, Syl Peacefully after a brief illness and with family at his side, on Monday, October 5, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. We have heavy hearts, but grateful souls for a life well lived. The family of Syl Yantzi wishes you to know that he has gone to be with his Lord. Grieving this loss are his beloved wife Betty (Snyder) Yantzi, whom he married October 4, 1952. Loving father of Bruce and Sandra Yantzi, Keith and Debbie Yantzi, Bonnie and Alan Dietrich, Bev and Mark Soehner. Sadly missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren Brock Yantzi, Brandon (Kate) Yantzi, Jamie (Jeff McPhee) and children Payton and Carter, Devin (Chris) Yantzi, Jordan (Rob Workman) and son Nick, Kirby (Trevor Baetz) and children Arianna, Logan, Cody (Alexandra) Dietrich, Adam (Melinda) Bleay and son Easton, Tyler (Jenny) Soehner, Russ (Kristine) Soehner. Remembered by his sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Sabina Randall, Elwood and Nancy Yantzi, Erna Flatt, Freda and Harold Schwartzentruber, Marlene and Roy Ziegler, Dorothy Yantzi, Ruth Yantzi, Bill Schmidt, Myrtle and Vernice Snyder. Syl was predeceased by his parents Noah and Lena (Zehr) Yantzi, brothers LaVerne Yantzi, Ernest Yantzi, Wayne Yantzi, sisters Laurene and Vernon Bender, Reta Schmidt and brothers-in-law Jack Randall and Bill Flatt. Syl was a devoted member of Shantz Mennonite Church, Baden. He will be missed and forever loved by all those lives he has touched. Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private family interment will take place prior to the service at Shantz Mennonite Cemetery. A memorial service to celebrate Syl's life will take place on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden with Pastor Don Penner officiating. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee or a charity of one's choice.
